Fall Color at Palisades-Kepler State Park – 2022 Edition

Here in eastern Iowa, there is no shortage of fall color to enjoy. One of my favorite spots to visit is just 15 minutes from our house: Palisades-Kepler State Park. This state park sits along Highway 30 between Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Mount Vernon, Iowa, and is an easy drive over the lunch hour for me.

It’s a beautiful park any time of the year, but especially in mid-October when the trees put on a show.

The park entrance is a hint that you’re in for a treat.
Looking south toward the river, a bright yellow canopy drapes itself over the park.
The bluffs along the Cedar River in Palisades-Kepler State Park never disappoint.
